On April 22, 2016, the Fire Company was contacted and advised that we were awarded a $19,200 FEMA FireAct Grant during Round 1 of the 2015 grant cycle.

Each year the Fire Company completes a risk assessment to prioritize the needs of our operation. We then set out, with the assistance of John Sly Grant Writing Services, to obtain grant funding for a large portion of these projects since our municipal funding and private donations don't cover the costs of our service. Since 2014, we have been able to secure over $400,000 in FireAct grants to replace our equipment and provide for recruitment and retention of our volunteer personnel. These grants allow us to lessen the burden on our community and residents.

This grant will allow us to replace our gear extractor which cleans and decontaminates our personal protective equipment. We are also adding a gear drying system to the firehouse to allow a quicker turn-around when cleaning our PPE.

Thanks to John Sly for another successful grant application.
