Longwood Fire Company’s annual open house on Sunday, October 18 will include food, fun for the whole family and life-saving demonstrations. The open house will take place from 12pm until 3:00 p.m. The public event is free and will include demonstrations and family activities. There will be a vehicle rescue demonstration with the tentative time set for 1:30 p.m. Also, a LifeNet Air Medical Chopper is planning to land at the open house from 12:30 p.m. and will leave around 2:30 p.m.
Complimentary refreshments by Herr’s Food and Wawa will be provided. Free flu shots, provided by Walgreens will be available for the first 100 people. Penn Medicine’s Chester County Hospital will be providing Hands Only CPR and AED demonstrations. There will be fire extinguisher simulations, kid-friendly fire prevention activities along with tours of the station. Members of the Kennett Township Police Department are also expected to participate.
